Type 1 diabetes is also known as juvenile diabetes. It is also called insulin-dependent diabetes. It is a chronic condition where the pancreas secretes little to no insulin. Insulin is needed for the cells to absorb glucose for the production of energy. Among the two types of diabetes, type 2 is more common. It occurs when the body becomes immune to insulin effects or when the body fails to produce sufficient insulin.
It is important to know the type 1 diabetes cause. There are several factors that lead to Type 1 diabetes, such as genetics and exposure to certain viruses. Type 1 diabetes occurs primarily during adolescence. However, it can manifest itself at any age.
